Locked into starting XI
Upamecano has started all four of Bayern Munich's Bundesliga matches this season.
Analysis: Upamecano has remained a fixture at center-back, recording one goal, eight tackles, six interceptions and 16 clearances across four Bundesliga appearances. His ever-present starting role underlines his place among Bayern's preferred defensive options alongside Jonathan Tah. Upamecano should continue to see heavy minutes at the heart of the defense as long as he remains healthy.
Assists off bench versus England
Upamecano assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 6-4 defeat against England.
Analysis: Upamecano delivered the final touch before Ousmane Dembele's stoppage-time goal, turning a limited defensive performance into a decent fantasy outing. The defender played a consistent role in the middle of the back line during the tournament, with his averages of 1.9 interceptions and 3.4 clearances per game ranking first and second, respectively, on the squad.
