Begins individual training
Davies (hamstring) completed his first individual training session at Bayern Munich's training grounds Thursday morning after returning from the World Cup, according to the club.
Analysis: Davies aggravated a hamstring injury during the tournament and ultimately played just 15 minutes as Canada was eliminated by Morocco in the round of 16. His return to individual work on the training pitch marks the first step in his recovery process, and his progression toward full team training will be one to track as Bayern Munich builds toward the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. If the Canadian can't be fit enough to start the season, newcomer Nathaniel Brown will get the nod at left-back for the Bavarians.
Aggravates hamstring injury
Davies aggravated his hamstring injury two days before Canada's round of 16 clash against Morocco and attempted to warm up at halftime in a desperate bid to feature, but ultimately could not take the risk of playing, according to Faizal Khamisa of Sportsnet.
Analysis: Davies played just 15 minutes throughout the entire World Cup as Canada were eliminated 3-0 by Morocco in the round of 16, with his hamstring issue preventing him from making any meaningful contribution to the tournament. He will now look to recover fully ahead of Bayern Munich's preseason, targeting a return to full fitness as the Bundesliga 2026/27 campaign approaches.
