Pushes for bigger role
Del Castillo is pushing for a bigger role after a slow start to the campaign, with his decision to train on his own during the squad's time off showing his desire to accelerate his adaptation and earn more opportunities, per Diario De Navarra.
Analysis: Del Castillo remains on the fringes at Osasuna despite the level he showed in Ligue 1, and even the run of rotation through the packed schedule brought chances for others ahead of him. He chose to train on his own at Tajonar while the rest of the squad took time off with no fitness concern behind it. The decision on his role sits with the coach, but the attitude he has shown suggests he will be pushing for a bigger part.
Trains fully in preseason
Del Castillo is training fully during the first week of preseason with Brest, confirming his recovery from the thigh injury that cut short his final appearance of last season against Angers, the club posted.
Analysis: Del Castillo ended the 2025/26 campaign as Brest's standout attacking performer, closing out his highest-scoring season to date with nine goals and three assists from 32 starts, contributing 33 shots and 57 chances created throughout the campaign. His return to full training ahead of the new season is an encouraging sign for new coach Julien Lachuer heading into what promises to be another demanding campaign.
