Back in the group for opener
Edouard is available for Saturday's season opener against Auxerre, according to coach Dino Toppmoller, per Madeinlensois. "Edouard, everyone saw him, he was there, he's ready to return to the group."
Analysis: Edouard had been held out of Sunday's Trophee des Champions final against PSG as a precaution amid concerns over an adductor injury, with the club prioritizing his readiness for the league opener over risking him in that fixture. His return now clears up the lingering doubt about his fitness heading into the new season, giving manager Dino Toppmoller a key attacking option back at his disposal.
Dealt achilles pain
Edouard is out for Thursday's match against Fredrikstad due to an achilles injury, according to manager Oliver Glasner. "Odsonne told us he can't train and play, because he has pain in his achilles."
Analysis: Edouard is going to be sidelined for the time being, with the forward hitting the sidelines after suffering pain in their achilles. Luckily for the club, this appears to be a minor loss, as the forward has only appeared for two minutes in one appearance so far this campaign. This will put him in jeopardy of missing Sunday's match against Aston Villa, needing a big boost to make the team sheet.
