Signs with Levante through 2028
Mandi has signed with Levante through June 2028, according to the club.
Analysis: Mandi made 40 appearances for Lille last season across all competitions, including 29 in Ligue 1 and 11 in the Europa League. The 34 year old center back previously spent five seasons at Real Betis and three at Villarreal, where he gained experience in the Champions League, Europa League and European Super Cup, and has made 206 LaLiga appearances over the course of his career. An Algeria international who is featuring at this summer's World Cup, Mandi will undergo a medical before linking up with coach Luis Castro in the coming days.
Concedes twice to exit World Cup
Mandi had one tackle (one won), two clearances and two interceptions in Thursday's 2-0 loss versus Switzerland.
Analysis: Mandi was unable to help his team prevent Switzerland from scoring two and their World Cup has come to an end at the Round of 32 stage. Mandi won his only tackle, made two interceptions and two clearances in the game. For the first Switzerland goal, he was dribbled past too easily by Johan Manzambi, who was able to tee up Breel Embolo for the first goal.
