Bags brace off bench
Nmecha scored two goals to go with two shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 3-0 win over SC Paderborn.
Analysis: Nmecha subbed onto the pitch in the 65th minute Saturday and proceeded to take over the match. He scored a pair of goals - in the 80th and 89th minute - to secure the win for his side. The goals came on his only two shots and they marked his first two goals of the season. He was active on the defensive end too as he won two tackles, intercepted one pass and made one clearance in his 25 minutes off the bench.
Quiet in World Cup exit
Nmecha registered one cross (zero accurate) and one tackle in Monday's 1-1 (5-4) penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.
Analysis: Nmecha had a rough match to start Monday, as he would be taken off at halftime after only a cross, one tackle won and nine passes in 45 minutes of play. This is an unfortunate way to end for the midfielder, as he did have a decent tournament up until the Paraguay match. That said, he ends the tournament with one goal on eight shots (three on target) and one assist on two chances created to go along with 13 tackles (three won).
