Assists in Wednesday's loss

Edmilson assisted once to go with two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Wednesday's 3-1 loss versus Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Analysis: Edmilson made his third consecutive start Wednesday, once again helping lead the attack from the right. He recorded his first World Cup assist in the 42nd minute when he collected a cross from Pedro Miguel and then found Hassan Al Haydos in the middle of the box who cut the deficit to 2-1. It marked just the second goal of the World Cup for Qatar and for a while after it felt like the squad found its way back into the match. Edmilson and Qatar were unable to come back though and were eliminated from the competition as a result. He finished his first World Cup with three shots (two on target), two chances created and four crosses (zero accurate) across 212 minutes.

Starts on Thursday

Edmilson generated one shot (zero on goal) in Thursday's 6-0 loss versus Canada.

Analysis: Edmilson attempted to provide direct running against an attacking Canada side, but struggled to generate meaningful opportunities. His lone opportunity carried 0.18 xG, but he shot off target. Beyond that moment, Canada largely restricted him in his own half, limiting him to 21 touches. His three clearances and one tackle reflect how he was pinned into a defensive role before being replaced at halftime.
