Leaves Portugal camp
Ronaldo announced on his Instagram that he decided to leave the Portugal national team camp. "Following the national team coach's press conference, and after a conversation with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have made the decision to leave the national team camp. In due course, I will tell all Portuguese people the truth about the reasons behind my departure from the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself. Now is the time to wish good luck to Portugal and to all my teammates, without exception."
Analysis: Ronaldo's latest absence comes after he remained an unused substitute throughout Portugal's 2-1 win over Norway on Sunday and then skipped the subsequent group training sessions. Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus said in his Wednesday press conference that the captain would train that day and that a Tuesday meeting had resolved any issues, with no problem between them. Ronaldo instead left Parken Stadium shortly after those comments and did not take part in the session.
