Quiet display before halftime exit
Kerem Akturkoglu generated one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Friday's 1-0 defeat versus Paraguay.
Analysis: Akturkoglu was given the role up front and kept trying to get in behind the Paraguay defence throughout his time on the pitch, contributing two chances created. However, itt was not enough to make a real impact though as he failed to register a shot and could not influence the game before being replaced by Baris Yilmaz at half time.

Analysis: Akturkoglu fired three shots with one testing the goalkeeper, whipping a curling effort from the right edge of the box that Patrick Beach did well to push away before making way for Deniz Gul in the 85th minute. He struggled to generate much chemistry alongside Arda Guler and Hakan Calhanoglu and was often left on an island against Australia's left-sided defenders, who handled his direct attacking runs without too much trouble. Akturkoglu heads into the World Cup with three goals in Turkiye's qualifying campaign, though Saturday's performance highlighted the challenge facing coach Vincenzo Montella in getting the best out of him alongside Guler.
