Unable to find a teammate
Inigo Vicente had seven crosses (two accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 2-0 defeat versus Osasuna.
Analysis: Vicente had good volume on his crossing and did deliver some accurate service but was unable to put together a strong move to give Racing Santander a chance at a goal. He has a good matchup looming against an Espanyol team that has conceded 12 times in LaLiga play this season but the forward will have to do better with his accuracy to take advantage.
Creative wide threat
Vicente delivered an outstanding campaign for Racing Santander in La Liga 2, making 41 appearances including 39 starts and contributing nine goals and 20 assists across 3,275 minutes of action.
Analysis: Vicente was one of the standout performers in the second division this season, his combination of goal-scoring ability, creative output and set-piece responsibilities making him one of the most productive attacking players in the division. His 20 assists in particular underline his importance as a creator, consistently delivering the final ball that unlocked opposing defenses throughout the promotion campaign, with his set-piece delivery adding an additional weapon to Racing's attacking arsenal. His versatility to operate either on the wing or in the attacking midfield role behind the striker gives the coaching staff additional tactical flexibility heading into the La Liga season, and his output this season suggests he has the quality to make an impact at the highest level of Spanish football.
