Scores in loss
Uzuni scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 2-1 defeat versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Analysis: Uzuni gave Austin the lead with a tidy finish after intercepting a backpass from the Vancouver defense, showing the instinctive movement that has made him a consistent threat all season. His seven goals from 51 shots across 22 matches reflect steady production, and with 16 chances created alongside his scoring output he contributes on both ends of the attacking phase. His next fixture against Sporting KC, who sit 15th in the Western Conference, presents a favorable opportunity to build on his form.
Out Saturday
Uzuni (lower body) is ruled out for Saturday's clash against St. Louis City.
Analysis: Uzuni has been unable to overcome the lower body injury that had left him questionable heading into the final game before the World Cup break, representing a big loss for Austin's front line at an inopportune moment in the campaign. The striker has produced five goals in MLS action this season, leading the squad in that category, and his absence brings an end to a five-game starting run. His situation will be monitored closely during the World Cup break as Austin hope the issue does not prove to be a significant setback heading into the second half of the season.
