Holding minimal role
McNeil has started in one of his two appearances this season, while going unused three times.
Analysis: McNeil has had an up-and-down start to the season, earning a starting role in the season opener but having yet to see that spot again, serving from the bench in his only other league appearance. That said, he was dropped from the squad at points for sporting reasons, so he has missed a match while going unused twice. This doesn't bring much confidence to his role and minutes moving forward, giving minimal value to any team unless more starting time is received.
Makes quiet Palace debut
McNeil generated one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 defeat versus Everton.
Analysis: McNeil registered one shot in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Everton, making his first official appearance for Crystal Palace on the opening day of the Premier League season after his summer arrival. The winger adds width and directness to manager Pierre Sage's attacking options, and while his contribution was limited on a difficult opening day, his ability to take on defenders and deliver from wide areas gives Palace an additional creative outlet that will become increasingly important as the 2026-27 campaign develops.
