Registers first league assist
Torres assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-1 win against Strasbourg.
Analysis: Torres contributed to PSG's comeback victory with one assist, one shot on target and one chance created across 90 minutes. The forward forced an early save from Filip Jorgensen before setting up Desire Doue's stoppage-time goal with a cutback from inside the penalty area. The assist was his first in Ligue 1 this season, bringing his tally to four goals and one assist across seven appearances, including four starts. His five goal contributions underline his attacking productivity despite PSG's frequent squad rotation.
Trending toward playing Saturday
Torres (ankle) is trending in the right direction and could be an option to face Le Mans on Saturday, though further tests will be needed to determine his availability for the weekend, according to Abdellah Boulma of ICI Paris Ile-de-France.
Analysis: Torres withdrew from the Spain national team due to this ankle injury, and while he hasn't been ruled out from Saturday's game, he hasn't been cleared, either. Further tests will be needed, presumably Friday, to assess his availability. Torres has opened the season in strong form for PSG, notching seven goals in six matches between the Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
