Locked into right back role
Iglesias has started all seven league games at right back since joining from Getafe.
Analysis: Iglesias has settled into the Sevilla side quickly since arriving from Getafe and has been picked ahead of Jose Angel Carmona for every game so far, which looks like a clear shift in the pecking order on that flank. His defensive numbers back up the selection with 15 tackles alongside five interceptions and 24 clearances. He has chipped in at the other end too with a goal from four shots, and the team have made a far brighter start than the one they managed last season.
Signs for Sevilla until 2030
Iglesias has joined Sevilla on a four-year contract after his spell at Getafe came to an end, the club announced.
Analysis: Iglesias spent six seasons at Getafe, making 175 official appearances including 159 in La Liga and contributing two goals and nine assists, establishing himself as one of the most consistent and reliable right-backs in the division. In his final season at the club, he was a near-ever-present under coach Jose Bordalas, missing just one league fixture and surpassing 3,000 minutes while contributing one goal and two assists as Getafe secured a Conference League place. Iglesias now joins a Sevilla side looking to rebuild their status among Spanish football's elite, bringing the experience and reliability of a player who has spent the past six seasons competing at the top level of La Liga.
