Provides two assists in win
Caliskan assisted twice to go with zero corners and three chances created in Saturday's 3-1 win over Sporting Kansas City.
Analysis: Caliskan played a decisive role in Real Salt Lake's victory, providing two assists and creating three chances from central midfield. The midfielder set up Morgan Guilavogui's opening goal in the 11th minute before combining with him again for RSL's third goal in the 61st minute. Caliskan has now accumulated one goal, six assists and 38 chances created across 30 MLS appearances this season, alongside 41 tackles and 42 interceptions. His ability to contribute both defensively and creatively has made him an important presence in RSL's midfield, with Saturday's performance further demonstrating his influence in the attacking third.
Inks contract extension
Caliskan has extended his contract with Real Salt Lake until the 2028/29 season with an option for 2029/30, the club announced Thursday.
Analysis: Caliskan will likely retain a significant role for the remainder of the season after securing a new deal, with the midfielder playing all possible minutes in the first nine weeks of the current campaign. During that period, he has delivered two assists while racking up seven shots (one on target), nine chances created, 25 clearances and 11 tackles.
