Signs contract extension
El Mala signed a contract extension with FC Koln until the end of the 2030/31 season Thursday.
Analysis: El Mala was heavily linked with a Premier League move this summer, and while the new deal provides some security going forward, don't be surprised if transfer rumors resurface again at the end of the 2026/27 campaign. El Mala was one of Koln's best players last season, tallying 13 goals and four assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances (20 starts).
Scores before injury
El Mala scored a goal with his lone shot but left in the 80th minute due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: El Mala scored Koln's lone goal in the 18th minute before being replaced by Jan Thielmann following a challenge in the 80th minute. The 19-year old ends his breakout debut Bundesliga campaign with 17 goal involvements, 75 shots and 21 chances created across 34 appearances.
