Unfortunate deflection decides contest
Cunha generated three clearances in Sunday's 1-0 loss against Arsenal.
Analysis: Cunha recorded three clearances without attempting a tackle or registering an interception across 85 minutes in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. He returned to the starting lineup as part of Forest's back three and helped frustrate Arsenal for most of the contest, but Noni Madueke's 80th minute strike took a significant deflection off him before beating Matz Sels for the game's only goal. Cunha was replaced by Chris Wood five minutes later as Forest committed additional players forward in search of an equalizer, ending a frustrating defensive outing despite the hosts' otherwise disciplined performance.
Strong start earns Brazil debut
Cunha has started four of the first five Premier League matches this season and recently made his senior Brazil debut off the bench against Australia.
Analysis: Cunha has quickly established himself as a regular option in central defense while also earning his first senior international minutes with Brazil. The center-back has recorded seven tackles, three interceptions and 24 clearances across four Premier League appearances. His consistent run of starts combined with his international breakthrough highlights his growing role early in the campaign.
