Remains outside senior squad
Kim has yet to feature in a Brentford senior matchday squad this season, making two appearances for Brentford 2 instead.
Analysis: Kim remains outside Brentford's first-team plans after returning from his loan spell at Kaiserslautern, with his only club minutes this season coming for the second team. He has remained active internationally with South Korea U23 at the 2026 Asian Games, scoring during the tournament as his side advanced to the semifinals. Those appearances provide valuable competitive minutes, but Kim remains well down the central defensive hierarchy at Brentford and will need to make progress to earn senior opportunities.
Back from Kaiserslautern loan
Kim has returned to Brentford following the conclusion of his loan spell at Kaiserslautern, the club announced.
Analysis: Kim had been sent to the German second division after making only limited appearances for Brentford, with the club hoping the experience in Germany would help him develop. With two years remaining on his contract, the upcoming preseason will be an important period for him to prove he has a future at the Bees or potentially find a permanent move elsewhere.
