Facing two-week absence

Bergvall (knee) is expected to miss approximately two weeks after experiencing knee pain during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United, according to coach Roberto De Zerbi. "His knee, he felt pain, he finished the game but the day after he came to the medical staff - I think two weeks (he'll be out)."

Analysis: Bergvall sustained the injury early in Saturday's draw against Manchester United but managed to continue playing before reporting knee pain to the medical staff the following day. The midfielder had just returned to Tottenham's starting lineup after four consecutive matches on the bench, recording one shot and three interceptions across 66 minutes. His expected two-week absence interrupts his efforts to secure more regular starts, while Rodrigo Bentancur's suspension further reduces Tottenham's midfield options ahead of Monday's clash against Coventry. Mateus Fernandes could consequently earn a start alongside Sandro Tonali in central midfield.

Finally logs start, attempts shot

Bergvall attempted a shot across 66 minutes during Sweden's 3-0 loss to France on Tuesday.

Analysis: For most of the World Cup's group stage, Sweden's central-midfield pairing included Benjamin Nygren instead of Bergvall. After the former struggled between games, he was replaced by Victor Lindelof, who switched positions from center-back. But with defender Isak Hien (thigh) out against France, Lindelof reverted to CB on Tuesday, and Bergvall logged a start alongside Yasin Ayari. But offensively, Bergvall's lone stat was a shot, only his second. Besfort Zeneli replaced Bergvall, and with Sweden's knockout-stage loss, that means his best and only contribution was an assist against Tunisia.
