Ruled out of season opener
Tzimas (knee) is out for Sunday's season opener against Aston Villa, according to coach Fabian Hurzeler, per BBC Sport Sussex.
Analysis: Tzimas has been working his way back from the torn ACL that ended his promising start to life at Brighton, during which he scored and assisted once across nine appearances, and while he'd been considered the closest of the club's injured players to a return, this update confirms he isn't quite ready for the opener. Georginio Rutter or new signing Promise David are expected to lead the line up front in his continued absence, with Tzimas' timeline for a return still to be determined.
Ruptured ACL confirmed
Tzimas (knee) is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL, The Athletic announced.
Analysis: Tzimas suffered a knee injury against Aston Villa and has now been confirmed to have suffered an ACL injury. The forward will miss the remainder of the season after a promising start to his time with Brighton. He wasn't a consistent starting option, but he will leave Brighton down some depth, and he will miss key development time.
