Scores in season opener

Kayode scored one goal to go with four shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Analysis: Kayode had a strong start to the season as he scored an unassisted goal in the 49th minute to take the commanding 3-0 lead just after halftime. It was one of four shots he took in the match, an impressive number as he took multiple shots just once in the Premier League last season. He played well on the defensive end too as he made three interceptions and one clearance before he was subbed off in the 76th minute for Aaron Hickey.

Signs contract extension until 2032

Kayode has signed a new long-term contract with Brentford until summer 2032 with a club option for a further year, the club announced.

Analysis: Kayode made 56 appearances across all competitions since joining from Fiorentina on loan in January 2025 before the transfer was made permanent, missing just one Premier League match last season as Brentford secured a ninth-placed finish while earning a nomination for the Premier League Young Player of the Season award. Kayode scored his first Brentford goal in a header against Wolves in March and featured seven further times in cup competitions throughout the campaign, with head coach Keith Andrews praising his development, enthusiasm and the impressive evolution he has shown since arriving at the club from Fiorentina, where he had previously made 49 appearances including a run to the Conference League final in 2024.
