Registers five shots against Palace
George generated five shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 2-0 win against Crystal Palace.
Analysis: George registered five shots and two chances created in Saturday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, receiving the nod from manager David Moyes on the opening day and repaying the faith with a direct and energetic display from the left wing that also included two interceptions reflecting his defensive work rate. The English forward's five shots were the most of any Everton player and his willingness to commit defenders and create space gives Everton important width and variety, with his opening-day performance suggesting he can be a consistent attacking contributor throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
Joins Everton permanently
George completed a permanent transfer to Everton from Chelsea on a four-year contract through June 2030, the club announced.
Analysis: George earned a full-time move after spending the second half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan and making 11 appearances. The 20-year-old forward came through Chelsea's academy and enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2024-25, featuring prominently during a UEFA Conference League-winning campaign while also gaining experience in the FIFA Club World Cup. Known for his pace and direct attacking style, he adds another young option to Everton's forward group. George will now look to build on the experience gained during his loan spell and establish himself as a regular contributor over a full season.
