Redouane Halhal
Shows well in Napoli game
Halhal had five clearances and three blocks and committed one foul in Saturday's 1-0 victory against Napoli.
Analysis: Halhal drew his second consecutive start over Joel Schingtienne and was on point in the back as Venezia secured their maiden clean sheet. He has posted at least one clearance in his four appearances (three starts), totaling 16 and logging two interceptions and five blocks. Instead, this marked his first display without a tackle, after racking up five (three won) in his previous ones.
Five clearances in spot start
Halhal had five clearances and one interception in Saturday's 3-0 win against Canada. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 20th minute.
Analysis: Halhal got the start over Chadi Riad, and he had a solid job while dealing with the threat of Jonathan David and Tani Oluwaseyi. Riad should be back in the XI for the quarterfinals next week, however, so don't expect Halhal to remain in the lineup going forward.
Plays 90 minutes
Halhal generated one tackle (one won) and six clearances in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over Haiti.
Analysis: Halhal would start Wednesday after going unused in the opening two games of the tournament, with Morocco facing some rotation in the group stage finale. He would play the full 90 as he recorded one tackle won and six clearances, although the two goals allowed were a major blemish. He should return to the bench for knockout stage play.
