Moussa Diarra

Still recovering from injury

Diarra remains sidelined as he continues recovering from a right soleus injury, although his status has not been addressed in Malaga's recent senior squad updates because he is considered a reserve-team player, according to the club.

Analysis: Diarra continues his recovery from a right soleus injury diagnosed after he reported calf discomfort, with no confirmed timeline for his return to competitive action. The defender has endured several injury setbacks in recent years, including right knee ligament damage in February 2025, an ankle sprain in 2024 and a foot fracture that required surgery in 2022. His latest issue has further disrupted his efforts to regain consistent playing time, although his absence from Malaga's senior injury reports should not be interpreted as confirmation that he has recovered. Diarra is primarily considered a reserve-team player rather than an established first-team option, which explains why he has not featured in recent senior squad updates.
