Diverse stat line in loss
Puerta recorded two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Tuesday's 0-0 (4-3) penalty shootout loss versus Switzerland.
Analysis: Puerta attempted a dangerous shot to the far post in the first half and was otherwise active as a box-to-box midfielder in the round of 16 defeat. Overall, Puerta made a positive impression as one of his country's immovable players during the competition. Particularly, his averages of 2.8 shots and 52.6 accurate passes ranked second and third, respectively, among Colombia players. He also notched one assist over five appearances.
Creates two chances
Puerta recorded two shots (one on goal) and two chances created in Friday's 1-0 victory over Ghana.
Analysis: Puerta would stay involved most of Friday's match, earning 59 completed passes while adding two shots and two chances created. This does mark a fourth straight start for the midfielder, only leaving the field for 10 minutes in their opener. However, he has not earned a goal contribution since their opener, coming in the form of an assist.
