Could debut Sunday
David had his first training session with Brighton on Friday and could be involved against Aston Villa on Sunday, according to Andy Naylor. Head coach Fabian Hurzeler called the forward "a very positive character" and "a goalscorer."
Analysis: This news suggests David is quickly being integrated after joining Brighton on a season-long loan from Royale Union SG on Tuesday. His immediate availability would give the club another option in attack that could split minutes with Georginio Rutter. While the Canadian's role is not completely defined yet, he could have a good chance to push for starts as the season progresses. This will be his first Premier League experience, coming off a respectable nine-goal campaign in the Belgian league.
One shot from bench
David had one shot (zero on goal) in Sunday's 1-0 win versus South Africa.
Analysis: David would enter the field with 20 minutes to play Sunday, appearing as a substitute. He would earn one shot on his few chances and would nearly find the back of the net, just driving the ball outside of the post. This comes after a goal in the last match, delivering a late consolation goal from the bench against the Swiss. He is yet to see a starting role this World Cup, earning one goal and an assist in his 65 minutes of play.
