Assists twice off bench Sunday
Schjelderup assisted twice to go with one shot (one on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 2-1 victory versus Brazil.
Analysis: Schjelderup took Antonio Nusa's place at the beginning of the second half and made a direct impact in each of his side's goals, delivering a great cross in the 79th minute and pulling the ball back for Erling Haaland in the 90th of play. The Benfica man increased his assisting tally to three, which is tied for the highest figure on the squad after five games. Such playmaking influence will make him a decent option for a starting role in subsequent fixtures, competing with Nusa for the left-wing spot.
Credited with assist in loss
Schjelderup assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Friday's 4-1 defeat versus France.
Analysis: Schjelderup was one of several bench players who were granted a start in this match, and the winger made the most of it by setting up the team's lone goal. However, he's strictly a backup in this squad. Expect him to return to the bench when Norway take on Ivory Coast on Tuesday, as Antonio Nusa should start on the left side of the attack.
Subbed on against Senegal
Schjelderup created one scoring chance, had one block and completed six passes in 19 minutes in Monday's 3-2 win over Senegal.
Analysis: Schjelderup was the first attacker off the bench for the second fixture in a row and had one key pass again. He had decent room to work with while Senegal were trying to come back late in the game, but he'll have to be more impactful to concretely challenge Antonio Nusa. He has yet to take a shot or send in a cross in the World Cup.
