Out against Switzerland
Amoura (thigh) is out for Thursday's match against Switzerland, according to Algerie Football Media.
Analysis: Amoura is going to be sidelined yet again for Algeria after sitting out the final two group stage matches, as the forward is still recovering from a thigh injury. This will leave Algeria without a forward option, although it won't change much after he only played 26 minutes all tournament. Amine Gouri should remain as the starting forward for Algeria.
Could return against Switzerland
Amoura is recovering well from the thigh injury he suffered against Argentina and trained individually on his rest day, putting the finishing touches on a potential return for Algeria's round of 32 fixture against Switzerland, according to Abdou Djeddaoui of La Gazette du Fennec.
Analysis: Amoura has yet to fully recover, but the Wolfsburg forward still has a chance to be available for the Round of 32 clash against Switzerland and could see minutes off the bench depending on how the match unfolds. He's determined to make the most of whatever opportunity he gets, with the goal of being back to full fitness and ready for a bigger role in the next round if Algeria advances past the Nati.
