Misses penalty in opener
Thiago registered two shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 3-0 win versus Tottenham Hotspur.
Analysis: Thiago had a golden opportunity to score in Saturday's season opener, but his penalty attempt in the 55th minute hit the left post and ricocheted out of harms way. It's an unfortunate way to start the season for Thiago despite the big win, as that moment was really the only negative in Brentford's otherwise dominant win. On the bright side, the Brentford attack looked potent and completely in sync versus Spurs, so Thiago should have plenty of opportunities to finish off attacks this season.
Takes two shots in debut
Igor Thiago registered two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Morocco.
Analysis: A surprise addition in the starting lineup for Brazil's debut, Igor Thiago co-led them in shots among four other players, but missed an open header when the game was still tied 0-0. The forward also made two tackles to help on defense before subbing off in the 62nd minute. He is coming from a 22-goal season for Brentford, the second-best scorer in the Premier League, behind Erling Haaland.
