Available off bench against RSL
Delgado (lower leg) is on the bench for Wednesday's matchup against Real Salt Lake.
Analysis: Delgado will be in contention once again with current starters Kaick and Ramiro for upcoming contests. Still, the Ecuadorian's potential will be limited until he's able to regain a starting spot. He has moved around the midfield and left-wing zones when he's on the pitch while also delivering a small share of the team's corner kicks. He'll try to add to his tally of three goals in 15 appearances (nine starts) during the current league campaign.
Clears injury report ahead of Salt Lake
Delgado is not listed on Dallas's injury report and appears set to be available for Wednesday's match against Real Salt Lake, according to the MLS Player Status Report.
Analysis: Delgado had been considered at risk of missing upcoming matches after getting hurt during the Leagues Cup window, in which he made just one appearance across Dallas' three games. His clearance from the injury report is a positive sign for a midfield that would have otherwise been stretched thin given Kaick's separate absence from the squad. Delgado is expected to be in contention to reclaim a regular role in the middle of the park now that he's cleared this hurdle. His availability eases some of the pressure that had been building on Ramiro, Christian Cappis and Clay Holstad to cover minutes in his absence.
Scores goal in win
Delgado scored one goal to go with five shots (three on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-2 win versus San Jose Earthquakes.
Analysis: Delgado opened the scoring less than a minute into Saturday's game, placing his strike just inside the near post. Additionally, his five shots qualified as a game- and personal season-high mark. He lined up alongside Petar Musa up front, returning to the starting lineup after being limited to to just 11 minutes across three matches since early May. Now with two goals on the campaign, Delgado could find more consistency if he manages to sustain this uptick in form.
