Scores as substitute in loss
Adams scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Sunday's 2-1 defeat versus AC Milan.
Analysis: Adams shone with an acrobatic volley following a cross in the final moments of the match, notching his first goal of the season in a 20-minute performance. He had also scored off the bench in the final game of the previous campaign, with his efficient club run contrasting with his lack of production for Scotland at the World Cup. While it's still unclear if he'll find a greater role in the attacking rotation, the goal will help him put pressure on Giovanni Simeone if both strikers remain in the squad for the rest of the season.
Quiet versus Morocco
Adams generated one tackle (one won) and one clearance in Friday's 1-0 defeat versus Morocco.
Analysis: Adams started up top once again Friday, yet he struggled to make much of an impact versus the stout Morocco defense. He didn't manage a single shot in the match and his one major contribution on the attack was a created chance. His lack of involvement wasn't entirely his fault as the team struggled to get the ball to him on the attack, though it was still a disappointing performance from the striker. He was subbed off in the 71st minute for Lyndon Dykes. Adams will likely start the final group stage match Wednesday versus Brazil and he will hope to be more involved in the crucial match for the Tartan Army.
