Creates two chances in win
Foden recorded two shots (one on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Tuesday's 2-0 victory versus FC Porto.
Analysis: Foden returned to the starting XI after coming off the bench in Saturday's Premier League win over Coventry, producing two chances while remaining involved in City's attacking play. However, the 26-year-old was unable to end his prolonged scoring drought and has now gone 33 competitive appearances without a goal for Manchester City. Despite the lack of goals, Foden continues to receive significant opportunities across the attacking midfield positions and should remain heavily involved in the rotation.
Starts to open season
Foden generated two shots (zero on goal), eight crosses (three accurate) and five corners in Sunday's 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 78th minute.
Analysis: Foden was under a lot of pressure to start the 2026/27 season after underperforming the past two seasons, following a Premier League Player of the Season award in the 2023/24 season. However, he is set for a major role in Maresca's plans, and it was evident when starting the opener, recording two shots, two chances created and eight crosses in the win. He was active on the ball for much of the match, nearly bagging an assist in the early stages. He will look to close in on the 20 goal contribution mark this season, as that will prove his top levels are back.
