Logs one block, two interception
Senesi recorded one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 3-1 win against Jordan.
Analysis: Senesi registered one block, two interceptions and three aerial wins across his 90 minutes in Saturday's 3-1 win over Jordan, dealing with Jordan's physical threat and contributing to a collective defensive display that kept Jordan's attack largely at bay despite coach Lionel Scaloni making nine changes to his starting lineup. The center back was involved in the penalty incident when his rebound attempt was blocked by Nizar Mahmoud Ahmed Al Rashdan, leading to the spot-kick that Lautaro Martinez converted, and his reliability gives Scaloni useful depth at centre-back heading into the Cape Verde fixture.
Called up to Argentina squad
Senesi has been called up to join the Argentina squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday.
Analysis: Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni needed to find a replacement for Leonardo Balerdi (leg), and Senesi looked like the obvious choice on paper after a strong 2025/26 season at Bournemouth. The center-back will add depth behind the trio of Nicolas Otamendi, Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martinez. Senesi should open the tournament as a backup on central defense.
