Contributes at both ends
Kamada generated four crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 2-0 loss to Everton. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 30th minute.
Analysis: Kamada registered two chances created, four crosses, three tackles and one interception in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Everton, combining creative involvement with defensive tracking work throughout a match where Crystal Palace's output was never in question despite the scoreline. The Japanese midfielder's versatility to operate across the midfield and contribute in both directions makes him one of coach Pierre Sage's most trusted options, and his combination of chance creation and defensive intensity will be central to Crystal Palace's ability to recover from a difficult opening day.
Contract expires at Palace
Kamada became a free agent after his contract with Crystal Palace expired and was not renewed.
Analysis: Kamada leaves Crystal Palace after two seasons in England, having established himself as a regular contributor in midfield. The Japan international made 28 Premier League appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, including 22 starts, and finished his spell at the club with 62 appearances in the competition overall. At 29 years old, he brings a wealth of experience from top European leagues, having previously featured for Lazio and enjoyed successful spells in Germany. Kamada's versatility, technical quality and ability to operate in multiple midfield roles should make him an attractive option for clubs seeking an experienced playmaker ahead of the new season.
