Registers three clearances
Kossounou had two tackles (one won) and three clearances in Thursday's 2-0 victory versus Curacao.
Analysis: Kossounou would see some decent work in the defense as he earned a second straight start, appearing to be set for a starting role as they head into the knockouts. He would end up completing 57 passes, seeing decent time on the ball from the defense. He would also earn two tackles and three clearances in the defense as the Ivory Coast earned a clean sheet.
Shaky in Germany fixture
Kossounou recorded five clearances, one block and three interceptions and drew one foul in Saturday's 2-1 loss against Germany.
Analysis: Kossounou drew the start after subbing in very late in the previous contest and assembled a decent stat line, but he wasn't always on point in the back and misplaced a few passes. He replaced Guela Doue in the XI, with Wilfried Singo, who eventually subbed off due to injury in this one, moving to the right-back position. It remains to be seen whether that will be the way to go in the next match. His minutes also hinge on Evan N'Dicka's (thigh) status.
