Threatens Arsenal without finding goal
Delap had four shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-0 loss versus Arsenal.
Analysis: Delap recorded four shots, putting one on target, while adding one cross across the full 90 minutes in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. He provided Forest with a consistent attacking outlet through his physical presence and runs behind the defensive line, causing problems for Gabriel during the second half before seeing a late opportunity denied by Ezri Konsa's outstanding recovery challenge. Delap finished as Forest's most active shooter and was one of the hosts' most dangerous performers, although his efforts were insufficient to prevent another scoreless home outing.
Dropped from first team training
Delap trained away from the first team as his future with the club remains uncertain, according to Peter Rutzler.
Analysis: Delap has recently been dropped from first team training to train with a separate group of players, currently not in manager Xabi Alonso's plans. To go along with this, he was also asked to give his No. 9 shirt to Joao Pedro, adding even more questions to weather Delap will be on the team in a few weeks. Either way, his role with the club continues to diminish as Chelsea has added a few more attacking options this offseason, likely to serve a minor role in the team even if he does stick around.
