Set for MLS move
McKenzie will complete a transfer to Philadelphia from Toulouse at the opening of the winter transfer window, according to his current club.
Analysis: McKenzie is set to be on his way out of Toulouse in a deal decided a bit before it will take place, as the defender will join Philadelphia come Jan. 1. This gives him a return to his homegrown club, starting his career with Phlly before making the jump over the pond to play with Genk and Toulouse. This is a bit of a surprise for the club, as McKenzie has started in all five games to open the season, leaving the club despite a decent role. He still holds some quality and should continue as a starter once he changes clubs, likely just wanting to move closer to home after his years in Europe.
Out Wednesday
McKenzie (foot) is out for Wednesday's match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Analysis: McKenzie is not going to make the team sheet Wednesday as the USMNT prepares to face Bosnia, with a foot injury too much for the defender to play through. This will leave the team with one less option in the center of the defense from the bench, with Miles Robinson or Auston Trusty likely to now be the first off the bench. He will hope to recover if the USMNT qualifies for the round of 16.
