Included on bench
Hickey (undisclosed) is on the bench for Wednesday's clash with Brazil.
Analysis: Hickey was a doubt coming into Wednesday's match, but evidently he was able to get fit enough for a role on the bench. The defender might not be fit enough to actually play, but it's a good sign that he was deemed available for the bench. Nathan Patterson is in line for the start at right-back once more.
Doubtful for Brazil clash
Hickey (undisclosed) was forced to withdraw from Friday's defeat to Morocco due to injury and has been absent from training in North Carolina this week, leaving him doubtful for the crucial clash against Brazil, according to the federation.
Analysis: Hickey's potential absence is a notable blow for Scotland heading into what could be a qualification-defining fixture, with a win against Brazil confirming their place in the knockout rounds. No further details have been provided on the nature of the issue, leaving his availability uncertain heading into the group stage finale. Scotland currently occupy one of the eight qualifying third-place spots, making the Brazil fixture a pivotal moment in their World Cup campaign regardless of the result.
