Analysis: Payne had trouble keeping up with the opponents like most of his teammates, but he turned in a good effort on both ends and picked up stats across the board. However, he lost track of the ball on an early corner kick, inadvertently leading to Leandro Trossard's tap-in. Analysis: Payne helped open up the scoring Sunday as his corner in the 15th minute was taken beautifully and found a wide-open Finn Surman who easily headed the ball into the back of the net. It marked Payne's first ever World Cup goal contribution, and it came on his lone chance created in the match. He also recorded five crosses and took two corners on the attack. He and the defense struggled in the second half though, allowing three second half goals from Egypt. Next up is a must-win match versus Belgium on Friday.
