Jan Paul van Hecke

van Hecke (foot) has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad and returned to Tottenham for treatment after being unable to complete Wednesday's training session, according to The Athletic.

Analysis: van Hecke played the full 90 minutes in both of the Netherlands' matches against Germany and Serbia before the foot injury forced him to withdraw from the squad. The center-back has also been ever-present since joining Tottenham, completing all five Premier League matches while recording 10 tackles, three interceptions and 24 clearances. His availability for the Oct. 10 trip to Manchester United is now uncertain, with Tosin Adarabioyo and Marcos Senesi in line for increased roles in central defense if van Hecke is unavailable.

Exits Netherlands training

Van Hecke was forced to leave Wednesday's Netherlands training session after just seven minutes due to an undisclosed injury, according to NOS.

Analysis: Van Hecke's injury comes after the center-back played the full 90 minutes in each of the Netherlands' previous two matches during the international break. He has also been an undisputed starter at club level, recording 10 tackles, three interceptions and 24 clearances across five Premier League appearances. His status will now need to be monitored ahead of Tottenham's return to Premier League action against Manchester United, with Marcos Senesi a potential replacement in central defense if Van Hecke is unavailable.
