Out against Tottenham
Bizot will miss Saturday's match against Tottenham due to a back problem, according to coach Unai Emery. "Marco is out."
Analysis: Bizot is sidelined after being replaced at halftime of Wednesday's Carabao Cup win over Coventry City with a back issue. The goalkeeper had only recently been competing for opportunities behind Zion Suzuki, who has been manager Unai Emery's preferred option in the Premier League and Champions League. His absence therefore mainly affects Villa's depth in goal, though a longer spell out would leave Emery with fewer options behind Suzuki. Further updates should clarify the severity of the injury and Bizot's potential return timeline.
Concedes four goals
Bizot registered three saves and allowed four goals in Sunday's 4-0 defeat versus Brighton.
Analysis: Bizot made three saves but conceded four goals in Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Brighton. The goalkeeper was exposed repeatedly during a difficult first half, conceding four times in a 22-minute span, including Victor Lindelof's own goal, a close-range finish from Maxim De Cuyper and two Jack Hinshelwood strikes. The Dutch goalkeeper heads into the Arsenal fixture under pressure, with Zion Suzuki expected to challenge for the starting position ahead of what promises to be a demanding opening month of the 2026-27 campaign.
