Massive outing against Ecuador

Room made 15 saves and secured a clean sheet in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Ecuador.

Analysis: Room helped Curacao to its first-ever World Cup point with an impressive total of 15 saves, many of which were great reactions, while he also benefited from the opponents' poor aim to secure a clean sheet Saturday. Such number of shots stopped represented the most in a single 90-minute game in the history of the tournament. Furthermore, the outcome was diametrically opposed to that of his tournament debut against Germany, where he conceded seven goals. The keeper is now set to retain a starting role as his solid form is put to the test by an Ivory Coast side which scored one goal in each of the previous two games.

Concedes seven goals to Germany

Room recorded four saves and allowed seven goals in Sunday's 7-1 defeat to Germany.

Analysis: Room had a terrible World Cup debut as he couldn't do much to stop an overwhelming opponent. The goalkeeper could retain his starting spot in the next fixtures, but his side will need to improve significantly for him to offer considerable fantasy value. He could see a less challenging matchup in the next clash against Ecuador, who may still test his shot-stopping skills with highly experienced forwards such as Enner Valencia.

Leads Curacao in goal

Room has been named in Curacao's World Cup squad and is expected to start every fixture in the island nation's historic debut tournament appearance.

Analysis: Room shares Curacao's all-time appearance record on 69 caps, bringing unrivalled experience and leadership to the most important campaign in the nation's football history. His familiarity with the American football environment from his time at Columbus Crew and now at Miami FC is an added advantage heading into a group stage played on home turf for their opponents. Room heads into the World Cup as the undisputed number one and one of the most important figures in a squad making history.
