Ramos scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Thursday's 2-1 victory over Croatia.

Analysis: Ramos entered the field in the 27th minute from the bench Thursday, becoming the biggest player of the match when he rose for a header in the 94th minute and scored the game-winning goal. This does give him his first goal of the tournament, coming in only his second appearance. With Cristiano Ronaldo likely to continue starting at forward for Portugal, Ramos will likely remain a bench option, only playing 34 minutes so far this World Cup.

Ramos signed permanently with AC Milan after three seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, during which he won 12 trophies including two consecutive Champions League titles, his former club announced.

Analysis: Ramos came through the Benfica academy and made a sensational professional debut in July 2020, scoring twice within three minutes of coming on as a substitute against Desportivo Aves. He established himself as a regular starter the following season, finding the net 27 times across 47 appearances and earning his first cap for Portugal in 2022, a campaign that included a hat-trick against Switzerland at the World Cup in Qatar.
