Returns for preseason
Araujo (quadriceps) has reported to Bournemouth for preseason ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, the club posted.
Analysis: Araujo is back with Bournemouth after completing his loan spell at Celtic and appears to have moved past the muscular injury that sidelined him late last season and ultimately cost him a place in Mexico's World Cup squad. The defender has joined Bournemouth's preseason preparations as he looks to impress ahead of the new campaign. While his role remains uncertain, Araujo will aim to compete for minutes after showing promising form in Scotland before his injury setback.
Retained by Bournemouth
Araujo's (quadriceps) loan period at Scottish side Celtic has come to an end, and he's back with Bournemouth ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Analysis: Araujo had gained some momentum in Scotland, scoring one goal in February and delivering some solid performances before missing the final weeks of the campaign through a muscular issue, which also left him out of Mexico's World Cup squad. However, if he stays with his parent club after the transfer window, the defender would initially be limited to a depth role behind elements such as Adam Smith and Alex Jimenez.
