Scores in Saturday's win
Achouri scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-0 win against Colorado Rapids.
Analysis: Achouri found the back of the net in the 35th minute Saturday, an unassisted strike which gave his side the 2-0 victory. It marked his first goal since joining the club in July, and Saturday also marked his first start for San Diego. He was subbed off in the 68th minute for Amahl Pellegrino.
Tunisia's leading wide threat
Achouri is in line to start on the wing for Tunisia at the World Cup, standing out as one of the most reliable sources of attacking production in the squad.
Analysis: Achouri heads into the tournament backed by a strong international career, having tallied five goals across 29 caps with the Carthage Eagles, including a brace against Uganda at AFCON 2025 that announced him as one of the continent's more dangerous wide options. His form at club level has matched that upward trajectory, as he posted three goals and four assists in the Danish Superliga this past season while also chipping in with a goal and an assist across seven Champions League appearances, demonstrating he can produce against higher-quality opposition. Achouri is expected to operate on the right flank and should be the team's primary creator in open play, though he could remain behind Hannibal Mejbri in terms of set-piece responsibilities. Tunisia face a daunting group that includes the Netherlands and Sweden, but Achouri's direct style and ability to generate attempts independently could keep him involved regardless of the scoreline.
