Beaten early in defeat
Cakir recorded one save and allowed one goal in Friday's 1-0 loss against Paraguay.
Analysis: Cakir's night started in the worst possible way as Matias Galarza's long range effort beat him in just the second minute. After that however it was a quiet evening as Paraguay showed little ambition going forward and a handful of counter attacks produced just one save from him. Across two games in the tournament he has now conceded three goals and made three saves. Up next is the final game against the United States, and with Turkey eliminated, it remains to be seen whether coach Vincenzo Montella will give opportunities to players who haven't had much playing time, or aim to finish in the best way possible, with Altay Bayindir as possible replacement.
Two saves, beaten twice in defeat
Cakir recorded two saves and allowed two goals in Sunday's 2-0 defeat versus Australia.
Analysis: Cakir made two saves in Saturday's 2-0 World Cup Group D loss to Australia at BC Place in Vancouver, but he had no real shot at stopping Nestory Irankunda's 27th minute finish on the counter or Connor Metcalfe's long-range strike in the 75th minute as Turkiye dropped a costly opener in their first World Cup appearance since 2002. He was largely let down by defensive breakdowns that led directly to both goals, though his distribution came under scrutiny as Australia's aggressive high press repeatedly forced him into hurried clearances. Turkiye now faces a must-win scenario against either the United States or Paraguay to keep its knockout-stage hopes alive in Group D.
