Nicolás Tagliafico

Tagliafico (not injury related) has been ruled out for Friday's Ligue 1 clash against Lens following his return from international duty with Argentina, coach Paulo Fonseca confirmed, per Le Progres OL.

Analysis: Tagliafico recently returned to competitive action after recovering from a muscular injury, playing 50 minutes in Argentina's 3-0 win over Benin on Tuesday. However, his late return from international duty and limited preparation time have prompted Lyon to rule him out of Friday's matchup rather than risk another setback. Abner Vinicius is expected to start at left-back in his absence, while Tagliafico should have additional time to regain full fitness ahead of the following clash against Crystal Palace.

Ruled out with small muscular issue

Tagliafico (undisclosed) is ruled out for Saturday's clash against Rennes due to a small muscular issue, according to Progres OL.

Analysis: Tagliafico had already been a doubt after not being spotted in Friday's team training session, and this confirmed absence now removes any uncertainty. He has looked out of form since the start of the season, with Abner Vinicius likely ahead of him in the pecking order, meaning his absence should not significantly impact the starting lineup.
