Crucial saves to book quarter-final
Pickford made three saves and allowed two goals in Sunday's 3-2 victory against Mexico.
Analysis: Pickford was forced into three strong saves as England defeated Mexico in the Azteca to book a quarter-final spot against Norway at the Azteca. Two of these saves came from fellow Premier League player Raul Jimenez, who was aerially dominant in the box. This was the second game in which the keeper has made three saves. Pickford had little chance to save either shot that led to a goal. The first came from a volley after a poor Ezri Konsa clearance. The second saw the Everton keeper sent the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Single save in win
Pickford recorded one save and allowed one goal in Wednesday's 2-1 win against the DR Congo.
Analysis: Pickford faced only two shots during Wednesday's win and stopped one of them. That was all he had to do though, as England scored a pair of late goals to save Pickford's blushes after he was beaten at the near post inside 10 minutes. Pickford will be tested more heavily against Mexico in the round of 16, with a far more potent attack.
