Goal and assist in first start
David scored one goal and assisted once from six shots and four chances created in Wednesday's 4-0 victory versus Osasuna.
Analysis: David has settled quickly at Atletico and his first La Liga start turned into his most complete performance yet against Osasuna. The forward had come off the bench in the previous outing to score his first league goal against Real Sociedad, and this time he opened the scoring himself before setting up a team mate, all while registering six shots and four chances created. He has now scored in every La Liga appearance he has made for the club.
Makes Atletico debut
David (undisclosed) recorded no stats in Wednesday's 2-1 loss versus Liverpool.
Analysis: David is now available after missing Atletico Madrid's previous match with a physical issue, and his 73rd-minute introduction at Liverpool came despite coach Diego Simeone previously suggesting that his limited adaptation time could keep him out. With Alexander Sorloth sidelined, there is a route into the starting lineup for David, although Simeone's preference for flexibility in attack and Julian Alvarez's return to the XI leave some uncertainty over how quickly David will be given a starting role.
