This comes after he was deemed to have made a tackle as the last defender with a player through on goal, reversed after originally being shown a yellow card to go along with a penalty kick. This will make it an uphill battle for Qatar to qualify for a third-place spot, as they are already down a man against Canada, as they find themselves losing and they will now miss a crucial player against Bosnia. Sultan Al Brake is now a likely option to fill Ahmed's role against Bosnia, as he now hopes his World Cup won't end after a red card.
